23 April 2010 – Winchester
Royal Hampshire County Hospital Exhibition
What can I say about this first experience in the land of England?

From the beginning the painting “Stolen” has created considerable interest in visitors and professionals. Made in Sicily in 2008, in tribute to the “The Nativity” of Michelangelo Merisi, and with the intention of raising public awareness about art theft, the painting has created widespread interest not just to what’ they represent, but for the strip of cloth specially detached from the frame to simulate the theft, because if in Italy was a clear reference to the theft of the work of Caravaggio, instead here in England was not the same, maybe a few here know Caravaggio? The fact is that after a few days and after continual calls from the public, the pubbic security intervened to make sure that no one should even attempt to steal this painting.
My experience does not end here, after some lamentle by some visitors and after the recall of an official of the Hospital of Winchester, I received a phone call from
the Art Club of Winchester, where I recommend replacing the painting “The Last Angel “with other work, since the first was” not adequate “to be exhibited in a hospital setting.
Unfortunately I had no choice, the same day I went personally to withdraw my paintings from the exhibition.
